About Me
Life Experiences
I think that one of my greatest life experiences would have to be playing high school football. It taught me a lot about who I was as a person and it showed me how important communication and teamwork is. I played quarterback for my high school team and I was pretty undersized at my position. I had a lot of obstacles to overcome with being undersized on top of being the smartest player on the field with reading the defense's coverages and knowing when to call for an audible on the play. It wasn't easy but I learned to overcome hardships as well as learning how to do certain things in order for me succeed at my position. But that being said, the last year that I played high school football I lead our team to winning season with only losing two games and getting them all the way to the sectional title game which is the farthest that our school has ever came in the state tournament. We ended up losing that championship game but it sure was a close one. But playing high school football taught me that I can overcome any obstacles with hard work and determination, and I am very thankful to have learned everything that I did with football. It has made me better man and it showed me that hard work pays off.
Going to College
Going to college has not just been an important milestone for me but its also important to my family. I am a first generation college student and the first one in my family on either side to go to college. Getting accepted into IUPUI was one of the greatest things to happen to myself and my family and I haven't taken one moment of this opportunity for granted. I have an amazing chance to be something great in life and I gonna make sure that it happens!
Personal Background
I've always been the one to do what I can to help someone who is in need. This has always been a big thing about who I am as a person. It's why I want to be a chiropractor so I can help more people in a more meaningful way. For myself to help someone get out of pain and even live a normal life would me the world to me.
Important Mentor
When it comes to my important mentor I could look no further than to my father, David Wilson. All of my good personality traits come from my father, I even got his good looks, but the only thing that I didn't get from my father is his height. He's my greatest friend and he taught every almost every life lesson that I have ever needed to know. My Dad taught me how to be a man and to always do the right thing even when don't want to. He taught me how to do my taxes and even helped me buy first car. He was even there for me when I wrecked that car, and then he helped me buy second car. My father has always been a man that I chose to follow, he set good examples and did right by people. He's a great man and was supposed to be the best man at my wedding. But, sadly, that won't happen. That is because my father passed away almost two years ago on the July 2. He passed from pulmonary embolism at the age 42, and I watched him pass away right in right of me as the doctors and nurses tried to bring him back to life. This was the hardest thing that I ever had to go through. Those images of him on the table still play through my mind everyday, it haunting. But I know that my father wouldn't want me to remember him that way, so I try not to. I do my best to honor and live the way that he taught me to and I do everything for him. He was the mani always went to for everything, and he still is. He was the greatest mentor I will ever have and I miss more and more each day.
